When customizing packaging, it involves calculating the dimensions of different materials. Here are some size calculation tips summarized by ITIS packaging factory over the years. I believe they can help everyone have a clear method and technique when encountering such problems.
The size of shrink film is generally difficult to control and often needs to be provided by the factory to the designer. However, the designer also needs to calculate the approximate size in the early stage to facilitate the production of printing file boxes, layout and packaging content. Later, they will find the manufacturer to help measure it, and finally help the design content fit on the size provided by the factory
PVC, PETG, OPS, etc. have different shrinkage rates and physical properties, which can affect the accuracy of size calculations. For example, PVC shrink film is widely used due to its high transparency, easy shrinkage, and good tensile strength. Its shrinkage rate can be adjusted according to user needs, which should be considered when calculating dimensions.
The specification of shrink wrap is usually expressed as a combination of its width and thickness, for example, 15mm x 300mm represents a thickness force of 15 microns. A shrink film with a width of 300 millimeters. The common thickness of shrink film is 15-30 microns. The width is generally 200-1000 millimeters, and there are also multiple options for the color of the shrink coating, such as transparent, white, and black source.
The designer of the shrink film has a very high probability of making size mistakes. After we finish the manuscript, we must print it out and put it on the bottle to see the effect
Shrinkage film size:
We need to measure five dimensions here, namely the upper shrinkage position, the distance between the text and the top of the bottle, the content size, the distance between the text and the bottom of the bottle, and the lower shrinkage position
Gift size: The size of the gift packaging box should be determined based on the size of the gift being packaged. The size of the gift can be directly selected from the size of the packaging box. Structural design: Different packaging box structures have varying requirements for size. For example, foldable packaging boxes need to consider the size after unfolding; Cylindrical packaging boxes need to consider diameter and height. When choosing the size, it should match the specific packaging box structure.
Different gift shapes have varying requirements for packaging box size. For example, rectangular gifts require a longer but narrower packaging box, while spherical gifts require a packaging box that is suitable for the diameter and height. Leave an appropriate margin: When selecting the size, a suitable margin should be left to facilitate the placement and retrieval of the gift. It is usually recommended to add some space on top of the size of the gift to ensure its compatibility.
Combining decoration and printing, the size of the packaging box also needs to be determined based on the requirements of decoration and printing. For example, if it is necessary to print patterns or text on the packaging box, sufficient space should be left. The size of gift packaging boxes is a very important consideration in packaging design.
Reason: The distance between products should not be less than 10 millimeters. If they are too close, the material is prone to breakage or the products may be crushed by compression
Reason: 20mm distance from the product in all directions
If it's too close, opening the entire box will be unsightly, and there may be material breakage and product compression issues
If you want to make the box size smaller
Alternatively, if you prefer to save ingredients, you can also choose a smaller size, but the currently provided dimensions are more reasonable and safe
The distance between products should not be less than 10 millimeters, and the distance between products should be 20 millimeters in all directions
The materials of cosmetic hoses mainly include PE plastic, aluminum-plastic pipes, all aluminum pipes, and environmentally friendly paper plastic pipes.
PE plastic: Full plastic hoses are usually made of PE (polyethylene) material. The entire hose made of this material is made of PE material and processed through cutting, offset printing, screen printing, hot stamping, and other processes after pulling out the hose. PE plastic hoses have good flexibility, durability, and transparency, making them suitable for packaging various cosmetics.
For the size calculation of the packaging hose outer box, it involves specific requirements for packaging design. For example, the height outside the hose may need to be 3 millimeters higher than the height of the hose itself. Generally, hoses are placed diagonally. Students should pay attention to this to ensure the stability and aesthetics of the hose. This calculation needs to consider whether the hose needs an inner support. If an inner support is needed, it is usually 5-6 millimeters higher
Aluminum plastic pipe: This type of hose consists of two layers, the inner layer is made of PE material and the outer layer is wrapped in aluminum. The advantage of aluminum-plastic pipes is that they combine the flexibility of PE plastic with the durability of aluminum, and are cut and then rolled to form flexible hoses. Aluminum plastic pipes are suitable for cosmetic packaging that requires a certain level of strength and aesthetic appeal.
All aluminum tube: The all aluminum tube is made of pure aluminum material, which has good recyclability and environmental friendliness. Although all aluminum tubes are prone to deformation, their unique texture and plasticity make them a packaging material with memory points, suitable for cosmetics that require special visual effects.
Environmentally friendly paper plastic tube: This is an environmentally friendly hose material that combines the characteristics of paper and plastic, with good environmental friendliness and certain strength.
Hose size:
The width of the official tail multiplied by 2 equals the width of the unfolded tube tail, which is usually 5 millimeters. The lid is generally not included in the calculation range
