You can choose one of the following three ways to indicate:
1. The production date indicates the earliest production date of a single piece of food, and the shelf life is indicated based on the shelf life of the earliest expired single piece of food;
2. The production date indicates the date when the outer packaging forms the sales unit, and the shelf life is indicated based on the shelf life of the earliest expired individual food item;
3. Mark the production date and shelf life of each individual food item on the outer packaging.
Location of production date and shelf life markings:
Clearly label on the main display page of the minimum sales packaging for customized packaged food; The minimum sales packaging box has multiple layers and is labeled on the outermost packaging box.
The size of production date and shelf life labeling: Use text, numbers, and symbols with a minimum height of not less than 3 millimeters and a height to width ratio of not more than 3:1 for labeling.
Clearly label in a way that contrasts the background color with the date color, such as white background and black text; If the production date and shelf life are marked in a certain position on the customized packaging, the position should be clear, accurate, and easy to find; improve the target date marking technology and equipment such as coding and printing to ensure that the marked content is long-lasting and clear.
Common problems and precautions for production date coding of customized packaging boxes
The production date code is mostly printed on the box cover, body, bottom, or outer packaging. The code is often composed of year, month, and day. When purchasing a product with a shelf life, it is necessary to first observe its production date and shelf life, and then calculate whether the product has expired, in order to decide whether to purchase it.
The production date and spray position of different products are different. Generally, for plastic packaged products such as bread and fresh milk, the production date is printed on the side with a logo, while the production date of canned drinks is mostly printed on the bottom of the can. The production date of bottled drinks is usually marked on the bottle cap, and consumers can check according to the packaging of the purchased product.
For our custom packaging box designers, it is necessary to reserve the coding position and not print the coding directly. In addition, for black packaging, white frames are generally required. Many packaging box manufacturers do not have white coding, and black coding cannot be seen clearly when sprayed on the packaging!
